Summary
This Report makes recommendations for reform of the Scots law of defamation and verbal injury. The recommendations aim to modernise and simplify Scots law in these areas for the age of the internet and social media. They seek to ensure that the law strikes the correct balance between the fundamental values of freedom of expression on the one hand and protection of reputation on the other.
