Website upgrade

2 Aug 2010

The Commission's website has today been upgraded to run on a new web server using a new underlying software system. As a result certain links in past emails, publications and your bookmarks/favourites may be out of date. Our search engine may also be slightly out of date for a short while as Google re-indexes the addresses of the pages on the new website. We apologise for any inconvenience that this might cause, but this transition is a one-off occurrence.

The website is now based on an open source content management system which will make editing and maintenance of the website easier for Commission staff. Due to its being open source, the core software on which the website is now running came at no cost. Migration of the website to a new web host has also meant a further reduction in ongoing server costs. The development and migration of the website has been carried out entirely by Commission staff, and its management will continue to be done in-house.

If you have any comments about the website or come across any problems, please contact us.
